In September of 2024 a few of the guys (14 to be exact) in the Kettlebell Strength System competed in a step challenge we called “Steptember”.
And at the end of September, over 3.8 million steps were logged.
Steps are one of the secret sauces behind weight loss. Here are 12 practical ways that helped us get a group step count into the millions.
12 Practical Ways to Get More Steps in Each Day
Here are 12 practical things the guys did to get more steps in during the day.
- Go for a 10-15 minute+ walk as a cool-down after a workout
- Take or make work calls on a cell phone by using an ear bud and walking outside
- Get up and walk during work meetings when you don’t have to sit at your computer
- Walk in place while watching TV
- Go for a walk in the morning while waiting for coffee to brew
- Take your kids on a walk in the mornings
- Walk with your family to the park in the evenings
- Take several 10 minute walk breaks throughout the workday
- Walk for 10-15 minutes with your wife in the evening
- Take a lap around your building a few times throughout the day
- Go to the opposite end of your work building for coffee breaks, bathroom breaks, etc…
- Read, study, pray and/or meditate on Scripture while walking
